I have been making way more of our food lately than just buying premade desserts for FHE and my new favorite is strawberry shortcake. Don't these look yummy? I have discovered that I prefer using frozen strawberries and sprinkling them with sugar and then letting them thaw in a bowl to create the filling. The fresh strawberries just didn't make as much syrupy stuff.

you know what is really delicious as a sweetner on strawberries? a little honey or maple syrup drizzle. oh man, so good and tastes just like sugar!
Yummy! I am going to try that with frozen strawberries. I have tons of them in the freezer.
