The Happiest Misery
It is a Saint, yet is Wicked
It is a Song, yet with no tune
It is night and day, as well as Eternity
It binds, it creates; it controls, it smites
It is Justice
It is Modest and it is Brazen
It speaks with a unique tone
When it is Angry
It judges none, and therefore isn’t
Yet is a King, and also a Lamb
It is Wisdom
It is as the brightest ray of the happiest Sunshine
Happy, Humble, Hope
Beautiful
Yet is as a Storm
Terrible, Thunderous, Treacherous
Monstrous
Its words are sweet, yet strike
A tender chord
Twisted into a malignant strain
The Whip is its Advisor
It is Power
What Manner of Thing is this?
It is the song of Joy
It is the tale of Sorrow
It is Innocent
It is Treacherous
It is a Sheep
It is a Wolf
It is the Master
Yet the Apprentice
It is Power, Wisdom, and Justice
Yet so Meek and Mild
That it be this; a little Child
It is a Saint, yet is Wicked
It is a Song, yet with no tune
It is night and day, as well as Eternity
It binds, it creates; it controls, it smites
It is Justice
It is Modest and it is Brazen
It speaks with a unique tone
When it is Angry
It judges none, and therefore isn’t
Yet is a King, and also a Lamb
It is Wisdom
It is as the brightest ray of the happiest Sunshine
Happy, Humble, Hope
Beautiful
Yet is as a Storm
Terrible, Thunderous, Treacherous
Monstrous
Its words are sweet, yet strike

Just to clarify a bit--According to Junior this is just a poem about children in general and not about the Christ-child which I thought at first. I guess not understanding a poem completely is proof that it's good. :-)
Do you realize that you just "homophonically" called Jr a MORON! What kind of mother are you? ;-) Junior puts all my feeble teenage attempts at poetry to shame. And for those who don't know, creative writing runs through the Howe genes as well. Our Aunt Bonnie (Dad's Sis) was Utah Poet of the year (1982?) for her book of poetry "Wake the Unicorn" I need to find a copy of that somewhere.
Just looked it up; it was 1983.
Mom and Dad have a copy of the book! Good work JR!
Wow! That is an awesome poem. I am great at most types of writing, except creative writing.
That is AMAZING, and in 10 minutes! It could totally be a poem about Christ. Such talent.
That is a wonderful poem! Junior is certainly very creative and very talented. Watch out for him!
Truly great stuff! That is definitely talent. I love it when sons do things mothers can be proud of. (I'm sure that's especially true of teenagers!)
This is such a good poem. I use to write poems similar to this in school, got an award and everything:) This poem took me back to those days. Great Job!!
WOW! Send it to the Ensign and/or the New Era.
